There's a first time for everything, and for actor Dermot Mulroney ("My Best Friend's Wedding," "About Schmidt") his first time in the directing chair has arrived, with the New Orleans-shot romantic comedy "Love, Wedding, Marriage."
Principal photography started last week and will continue for the next four weeks.
New Orleans filmmakers Michael Arata and Jerry Daigle ("Deal," "Night of the Demons") are producing with Michelle Chydzik, the producer of the Mulroney starrer "Wedding Date" and last year's "My Life In Ruins."
"Love, Wedding, Marriage" stars Mandy Moore, James Brolin, Jane Seymour, Jessica Szohr and "Twilight" star Kellan Lutz, who is expected to go from this project to the the Baton Rouge-shot "Deathgames," with Samuel L. Jackson, next month.
"The film takes funny, sweet look at what it takes to make a marriage shine, no matter how long you have been married," Arata said. (We) "have a fantastic local supporting cast and our usual top-of-the-line production crew from here."
Shooting was originally scheduled to start Feb. 4, but Arata said it was pushed "to accommodate the cast schedules and to make sure that we were in production during Jazz Fest! This is the best time of the year to film."
A release date for "Love, Wedding, Marriage" has yet to be finalized.
