Amy Sedaris explains Jerri Blank

Comedy fans are familiar with the name Sedaris. David Sedaris is an award winning humorist. His kid sister is probably better known. Amy Sedaris started out in Second City, with Steven Colbert - America's champion of truthiness (and truthiness has never needed champions more than right now!). She's done some writing herself, for which she's won awards. She's a mainstay on the Letterman show (now that Dave and Howard "Wondertrash" Stern are no longer on speaking terms).

Sedaris is best known for her portrayal of drugged out skank and high school misfit Jerri Blank. So what possesses an attractive and brilliant woman to take on the role of a boozer, a user, and a loser? Pure comic genius probably, but let's let Amy explain for herself, as she does in the following short video clip made short before the release of the Strangers With Candy motion picture!



Blank may be a comic exaggeration but not by much. She's more of an unvarnished but light hearted version of what we see every day in the tabloids. If you're a regular reader of Wondertrash then you're well aware that Follywood is full to bursting with numerous Jerri Blanks. She might well be the patron saint of celebrities!
