| James Franco Covers 'The Advocate' October 2010 Posted: 09 Sep 2010 11:20 AM PDT  James Franco bundles up on the cover of the October 2010 issue of The Advocate! Here’s what the 32-year-old actor, who plays iconic gay poet Allen Ginsberg in Howl, had to share: On whether he’d admit if he were gay: "Sure, I'd tell you if I was. I guess the reason I wouldn't is because I'd be worried that it would hurt my career. I suppose that's the reason one wouldn't do that, right? But no, that wouldn't be something that would deter me. I'm going to do projects that I want to do. Everyone thinks I'm a stoner, and some people think I'm gay because I've played these gay roles. That's what people think, but it's not true. I don't smoke pot. I'm not gay…" On why he chooses to portray gay characters: "In this history of cinema, there are so many heterosexual love stories. It's so hammered, so done. It's just not that interesting to me. It's more interesting to me to play roles and relationships that haven't been portrayed as often." On how nothing would stop him from taking the role in Howl: "You want to know what my agents did try to talk me out of? General Hospital. They didn't think me acting in a soap opera was the greatest idea. But they know that I've always wanted to do a movie about the Beats, so no one tried to stop me from playing Allen Ginsberg." |

The Alias and Lost creator is shopping around the series with Jonah, who is the brother of The Dark Knight/Inception writer Christopher Nolan, according to EW. Jonah also co-wrote The Prestige and the short story Memento was based on! An insider tells EW that one network is “extremely interested” in the project. |

It’s a lot, to work with somebody and spend time with them, too.” On meeting each other fifteen years ago: “I think we liked each other [but] he asked me over to his house to play a board game - and that’s exactly what we ended up doing. So I was like, ‘This guy doesn’t like me. Who actually plays a board game?’… The timing wasn’t right. | Former LFO Member Rich Cronin Dies at 35 Posted: 08 Sep 2010 05:29 PM PDT  Rich Cronin, a former member of the boy band LFO, has passed away after a lengthy battle with leukemia. The 35-year-old singer, who wrote the band’s biggest hit, “Summer Girls,” scored a platinum single back in 1999. Friends including former *NSYNC member Chris Kirkpatrick sent their condolences. “Rip to a great friend,” Chris wrote simply. Lance Bass also weighed in, calling Rich “an amazing guy”.
