| Lady Gaga: 'Born This Way' is Billboard's 1000th #1 Posted: 18 Feb 2011 11:20 AM PST  Lady Gaga covers Billboard magazine’s issue for the week of February 26th. The 24-year-old pop sensation’s new single “Born This Way” earned the recognition as the 1000th song to reach number one on the Billboard Hot 100! Here is what Gaga had to share with the mag: On the instant success of “Born This Way”: “I can’t believe it. I’m humbled, honored and overwhelmed at the reception to “Born This Way.” This has been so life-changing for me. Between Billboard and the international No. 1s, and the radio numbers… I couldn’t be more blessed to have the fans I have. I knew when I wrote the song it was special, but I also knew that perhaps my fans or my label were hoping for me to deliver “Bad Romance the Third” or “Poker Face the Third.” I wanted to do exactly the opposite.” On her Grammys performance: “The Grammy performance was about many things but ultimately the song “Born This Way” . . . is visually and thematically and lyrically about birthing a new race, birthing a race within the race of already existing cultures of humanity–that bears no prejudice and no judgment.” On her red carpet entrance in an egg: “I was in Amsterdam on my tour bus. The book, which will be released in June, is about “London Lane, a 16-year old whose memory is erased at 4:33 every night. The following morning, all she can remember are events from her future.
