| New Kids on the Block & Backstreet Boys: Tour Announced! Posted: 08 Nov 2010 11:10 AM PST  New Kids on the Block and the Backstreet Boys are teaming up for a joint tour, called NKOTBSB! The two bands will perform beginning in the summer of 2011 - and tickets go on sale later this month on Ticketmaster! It was also announced today that both groups will hit the stage together on the 2010 American Music Awards on ABC on Sunday, November 21. "New Kids on the Block and Backstreet Boys on one stage is something special. Moments like these are what the AMAs are all about," AMA producer Larry Klein said. The 30-year-old actor would play a Virginia soldier named Kieran Selkirk, who is sent to Russia on an undercover mission by Benjamin Franklin. His mission is to win the affections of Catherine the Great (Hathaway) and alter her battle plans. NYMag notes that Disney had set up the project with Angelina Jolie in mind to play the part of Catherine! Neither Disney nor Ang is attached to the project anymore.
