Country singer Shania Twain is opening up about her split with her ex-husband, Robert ?Mutt? Lange, revealing she ?didn?t want to live? after learning of his affair.
Shania Twain said her former husband?s affair with her friend and assistant Marie-Anne Thiebaud left her feeling she couldn?t go on.
Mutt?s philandering ways caused the end of their 14-year marriage.
Shania, 45, appears on ?The Oprah Winfrey Show? today and admitted she even wrote Marie-Anne a letter asking her: ?Why are you torturing me? Let it go, please. Find love somewhere else from someone else.?
Shania is now ashamed of writing the letter, stating, ?I know it was pathetic. But we all have pathetic moments. No one is above this type of low.?
But Twain?s divorce later became ?a very positive thing,? as she ?needed the wake-up.?
The interesting twist to the story is that Shania found a friend in Marie-Anne?s former husband, Swiss businessman Frederic Thiebaud.
Shania and Frederic?s friendship developed into a relationship and they married in Puerto Rico on New Year?s Day 2011.
The country singer said she has forgiven her ex-hubby Mutt Lange and former friend Marie Anne.
In Twain?s book entitled ?From This Moment On?, she writes, ?Despite everything, I still loved my husband. And I still loved my friend. I put myself in their shoes with the understanding that accidents happen, we?re all human, and we all make mistakes.
?Eventually, I came to the point of accepting the end of my marriage.?
