Cameron Diaz returns to the big screen in June with 'Bad Teacher,' co-starring Justin Timberlake.

If Cameron Diaz seems happier these days, there are a few explanations.

For one, as the years pass, Diaz isn't fretting about her age but embracing the wisdom that comes with it.

"I think you get better as you age," the 38-year-old said in Cosmopolitan's June issue. "You know what you want, and you become stronger mentally, emotionally and physically."

Diaz cited her father's death in 2008 as one of the things that "happened recently that have pushed me to grow."

"Having gone through that really made me think about my life and how I want to live it," the actress said.

Among the changes she's made: no more fried foods. In Elle UK's June issue, she spoke about her renewed focus on being fit and trim.

"I'm very thoughtful about what I eat," she told the magazine. "You have to give your body the right nutrients and really think about what's best for it."

And then there's also her red-hot romance with Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez. She described the relationship as "really awesome" in Maxim's June issue and finally used the "B" word in Elle.

"Yes, Alex is my boyfriend," she said. "It's not a secret any more."

But Rodriguez isn't the only one she has by her side.

There's also Justin Timberlake, Diaz's ex and current co-star in "Bad Teacher." The pair split in 2006, but have spent an awful lot of time together filming their upcoming movie. The promotional tour will bring them together again.

"We're good at being funny together," Diaz said. "We know how to do that. That's easy."

But like Timberlake, Rodriguez might not end up Mr. Cameron Diaz. In all three magazines, Diaz reiterated her anti-marriage stance.

"I think a lot of people are married to people that they're not romantic with any more," she told Elle. "I just didn't ever marry anybody that I then had to get divorced from. We break up. We move on."

Diaz isn't pessimistic, "just a realist," she said, who has actually "gotten less cynical."

"When I was in my 20s I was not very happy?," she explained. "I see things how they are and it's hard to pretend that they're anything different."
