AppleTV - pointless.
iPhone - beautiful. I'm NEVER spending that much on a phone. EVER.
New Airport Extreme - cost twice what it should.
The airport base station is priced competitively with other n routers.. check out linksys new N router.
Jobs didnt have much of a choice about the iPhone. Its what some many people in the media wanted so he had to deliver or Apple stock might have suffered. I dont agree with it but I dont blame him. I was looking for a MacBook Pro update but I'm not worried :D

I hope other vintage game systems come out for iOS. I'd like to see Coleco make a football game (with the red dots) for iphone. The buttons could go on the screen with room for the field above. The head to head version could be played using two iphones over wifi instead of two people grasping it from opposite sides.

666sheep is right.. RAM is the main cause of KP's. As he said take one out and try booting up. Keep taking one out at a time till you have just 1 left. Once the KP's stop you will know the stick you just took out is the culprit.
.. and dont forget to try each stick individually once your down to 1 stick if it keeps kernel panicking - unlikely but if your unlucky its likely to be the very last stick you get too thats faulty - ( probably stating the obvious, but I thought Id add it for completeness of your correct advice zen - :) )

that sounds like a plan,only problem is,the store,i have a weird feeling that the 14st store wont be selling them,i havent called any stores,but i do know ppl are already waiting outside the 5th ave store,so to be on the safe side i think the 5th ave store would be best

In the UK, you are contracted to the retailer you bought it from. They are responsible for the product for six years. We have good laws in place to protect the consumer. I find it hard to understand why people never use their rights under laws such as the Sales of Goods Act.
A warranty is an insurance policy. Apple Care in the UK is not a policy from Apple, but a third party insurance company that they are contracted with. Can't remember the name of the company.
Apple are pretty good at repairing out of guarantee/Apple Care products, even when these times have lapsed. Had a power supply and logic board in my 4 year old iMac replaced for free. Sales of Goods Act is your best friend. :)
Whilst I always love to see people using the Sale of Goods Act to get what they deserve, can I make one small correction to avoid confusion?
The SOGA can offer protection for up to 6 years, but not automatically. The goods should be of "satisfactory quality" and this does not mean everything should last 6 years. The question the judge asks is- how long would the 'reasonable man' expect this item to last? For an iPad easily 2 years (Apple offer Applecare that long) maybe 3 if you are lucky. I don't think an iPad should be expected to last 6 years though.
Remember almost everything you buy is subject to SOGA, and I can't ask my local stationers to replace my black biro after 5 years if it stops working!

What did you do to make your HD show the size of your HD and how much you have free?
Hit command-j at the desktop and you'll get something that looks like this. Check 'Show Item Info' and you're good to go. :)

I don't think this one has been mentioned.... I think Microsoft's Remote Desktop is a wonderful app. I have had my iBook for almost a year now and Remote Desktop was one of the major reasons I decided to delve into the Mac world. I go to a college with abundant wireless access and I can basically use my Mac as both a Mac and PC (Remote Desktop allows you to remotely log in to a windows machine). And don't just on me for this.....there are some programs at school we have to use that are Windows only.... :rolleyes:

It's sad that we live in a society where actors, pop/rap stars, sports stars, etc. get paid mega bucks while professions like "school teacher" get paid peanuts.
I agree, it is sad. But it is simple economics i'm afraid.
There is only one Tom Cruise or Jay-Z, so the supply of the 'talents' they bring to any project is massively small against a seemingly large demand, hence a huge fee is commanded.
Mr X the Schoolteacher, however, has no such bargaining power as there's a relatively large supply of people who could do the job.
