My Favorite Movie: Pan's Labyrinth
In the Bible, Jesus teaches the wonderful qualities of children and urge that we should imitate them for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs. Pan's Labyrinth best examplified this teaching. No, Pan's Labyrinth is not a gospel movie. It's a Spanish language fantasy movie. Pan's Labyrinth is magical: the direction, story, set design, visual effects and of course the acting. Im not a Del Toro (the director) fan. His previous works Mimic and Hellboy was just so-so for me. But his 2006 flick Pan's Labyrinth totally blew me away. With numerous Oscar awards under its belt, a 20 minute standing ovation at The Cannes Film Festival, rave reviews from different movie critics, I urge everyone to watch this beautiful film. It's a unique adult fantasy that is gory yet beautiful, sad but inspiring, and bizaare but emotionally sweet. No wonder, Pan's Labyritnh still remains one of my overviewed movie dvd of all time.
